Its ok I don't Speak!

So, this week came this girl at the Gift Shop at Safari Park, and she was deaf, she was awesome, very nice girl. Her little sister helped her! I could not stop thinking about my friend Sister Davenport from my mission!

When I was called to serve in Washington DC, I did not know how to speak a word in English and I am not being dramatic... that was the true. So I had REALLY hard time learning at the MTC. I stay in the MTC for 10 weeks, I remember my last week they had some members come over to help us practice how to teach in English. My companion in that class was Sister Barron from Argentina, she could not speak much at all (But she knew more than me... that is for sure). We got really frustrated and after the class Sister Barron and I were crying outside because not even we could understand what we were saying. I remember that night where I pray and really ask the Lord to help me.

3 Days after we were getting in the Plain to go to the Mission Field, I then meet Sister Davenport who was Deaf! We set together in the Plain and we tried to have a conversation trough paper.
Sister Davenport asks me where I was from (I could understand that) I answer I was from Brazil, I ask where she was from, She said she was from Utah, She asked me other thing... I have no clue what was... I could not understand.
I wrote her back and said: "Sorry, I don't speak English".
She then wrote me back and starts laughing and said... “Its ok, I don't speak".

I know for her that was just a joke, but for me, I conceder that moment the turn point on my mission. Where I see clear the eyes of God over me and his tender mercies. Sister Davenport might not ever understand how I am grateful for her positive attitude and how she sees difficulty’s as opportunities to grow! How marvelous our life can be if we have positive attitudes!
